Dr. Ahn and his staff are excited to announce that Sculptra Aesthetic is now available at the Aesthetic Wellness Center! Sculptra is the first facial volumizer that rebuilds lost collagen, giving subtle results over time!
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra Aesthetic is a facial injectable that works gradually in a series of treatments — on average, three injection sessions over a few months — for a subtle, more youthful looking appearance.
Sculptra Aesthetic targets the underlying causes of the signs of facial aging- volume loss. By stimulating your body to build collagen within the deeper layers of the facial anatomy, Sculptra Aesthetic replaces lost volume that occurs with the aging process. This collagen structure provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of fullness, resulting in an improvement in facial wrinkles and folds.
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (or PLLA) which has been used for years in both dissolvable stitches and medical implants. PLLA is biocompatible, which means that it is not harmful to your body and poses no threat of toxicity or rejection by the immune system.
How does Sculptra work? Replace, restore, refine
Collagen is a major structural component in keeping a smooth, youthful appearance of your skin. During the aging process, your body’s collagen production decreases which can result in wrinkled skin. As collagen is replaced, it then provides a foundation which gradually restores the look of fullness. This result of correction in facial wrinkles and folds can then provide a more refined appearance, lasting up to two years!
The reinforced collagen from Sculptra provides a foundation which gradually restores the fullness to areas with volume loss. This treatment is beneficial for patients looking for gradual results that last for a longer period of time.

Sculptra can treat a number of different areas of the face that have experienced a decrease in volume including the temples, cheeks, nasolabial folds, mouth corners and jaw line.
Treatment Experience
When it is administered by Dr. Ahn, Sculptra works gradually to rebuild lost collagen. On average, three injection sessions are typically needed over the course of a few months. The treatment takes place in our office and is most often performed with the use of a topical numbing cream prior to the injection. The treatments can take between 15-30 minutes and involve very little, if any downtime.

Juvederm is injected beneath the skin using a very small needle. The procedure is quick and simple with minimal down time.
The Restylane or Radiesse material is injected beneath the skin using a very small needle. Treatment is quick and simple with no downtime.
The results of Botox treatment typically last up to four months.
The results of Juvederm treatment can last six months or longer.
Restylane results will vary but generally last an average of six months. Radiesse provides longer-lasting results of up to one to two years.
Botox has been safely used in over a million patients with minimal side effects.
There is usually very little discomfort associated with the Botox injection.
Restylane is comprised of hyaluronic acid while Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres.
During the consultation for Juvederm treatment, Dr. Ahn will discuss the treatment options available to you including the benefits, the expected outcomes and any alternatives. He will do his best to educate you about Juvederm and other injectable fillers in order to help you make a well-informed decision. Dr. Ahn will also be sure to address any questions or concerns that you may have.
During your consultation, Dr. Ahn will discuss the available treatment options. He will go over the benefits and expected outcomes of Restylane and Radiesse, along with any alternatives that may be available. The doctor will help you to make a well-informed decision by educating you about the treatment and addressing any questions or concerns that you may have. Digital photography and computer imaging may be used to show you the potential results of treatment with Restylane or Radiesse.
Botox, a purified protein, is an injectable filler which is FDA-approved for the treatment of frown lines. This simple, non-surgical injection is also commonly used to treat forehead lines and crow's feet.
Juvederm is the most recent FDA-approved soft tissue filler which can be used to fill creases and add volume to the lips. Juvederm is comprised of hyaluronic acid and is of a smooth consistency that allows for easier administration and more effective plumping. The results may last six months or longer.
Radiesse is a filler material comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite which can be used to smooth facial creases and lines and plump the lips.
Restylane is a filler material made of hyaluronic acid which can be injected beneath the skin to smooth facial creases and lines. Restylane may also be used to plump the lips.
There is no downtime or recovery after treatment with Botox.
There is minimal recovery or downtime associated with Juvederm treatment.
There is no real downtime or recovery associated with Restylane or Radiesse treatment, though some mild redness or swelling may occur as with any injectable procedure. Nevertheless, most normal activities can be resumed right after treatment.
Restylane and Radiesse injections are simple treatments that Dr. Ahn performs in his office.
The Botox injection is a simple treatment administered in the surgeon's office.
Juvederm is a simple and quick procedure which Dr. Ahn can administer in his office.
Individuals looking to temporarily improve the appearance of frown lines, crow's feet or forehead lines may be good candidates for Botox treatment.
